A consumer device which produces ice is an ice machine and is also known as an ice maker. These machines can be different in appearance; it can be like a stand-alone device, a bulky machine or just a tray inside the freezer at your home. However, an ice maker used at places like hotels, restaurants, clubs, hospitals and schools is called a commercial ice machine.

It produces high quality ice with moving water. Ice produced in these machines is virtually clear and soft; it is also able to produces ice in shapes of flakes, cubes, octagon, tube and crushed.
